This notorious figure in Lyari's dreaded underworld has once again made headlines after his son, Jibran, was arrested with an illegal pistol. Police say the man is a veteran criminal who has been jailed repeatedly and was still pursuing the same path.
The incident occurred on Monday when Kalakot police apprehended Gibran. An illegal pistol was recovered from him. Police issued a statement stating that Gibran is the son of a dacoit, Abdul Rahman alias Rahman , and has been active in the criminal world for a long time.
Gibran is a habitual offender.
Police from the Kalakot police station arrested Jibran in the Kalakot area during a special operation. He was found in possession of an illegal pistol, which was confiscated by the police. Some reports mention two pistols and bullets, but the official statement says only one pistol. Even after his release, he returned to his old activities, prompting police to re-examine him and take action.
The horrific past of Rehman the Dacoit
Rehman Dakat was a prominent figure in the Lyari gang wars. He was involved in more than 80 criminal cases and was at the center of the Lyari gang wars. In 2009, Karachi police killed him and three of his associates. Following Rehman Dakat's death, members of his family remained active in the criminal world. In 2024, one of his sons was killed in an alleged encounter.
