Government is running a massive recruitment drive

Railway Recruitment Boards are conducting massive recruitment drives to fill various posts. From November 2024, various boards have conducted computer-based examinations for more than 1.86 crore candidates for seven different recruitment notifications across the country.

The exams are aimed at filling a total of 55,197 vacancies

These exams are aimed at filling a total of 55,197 vacancies, most of which will be filled in the current financial year. Conducting exams for such a large number of candidates is a mammoth task that requires detailed planning and coordination.

To make the process more convenient, the Board has started allocating examination centres closer to the homes of the candidates. Special preference is being given to female candidates and persons with benchmark disability for local centres.

Examination centers and staff required

This change has increased the need for more exam centres and staff, but is also aimed at making the recruitment process more accessible and inclusive. To ensure transparency and fairness, the board has introduced Aadhaar based e-KYC authentication for the first time in such large-scale exams.
