News Topical, Digital Desk : Air India and Air India Express will operate 50 flights to West Asia on Wednesday, including 26 scheduled and 24 non-scheduled flights.
In view of the increased demand for flight operations due to the conflict in West Asia, Air India has also announced to operate 36 additional flights on five routes to Europe and North America between March 19 and 28.
Scheduled flights are regular commercial services operating on pre-determined times and routes, while non-scheduled flights are charter or private flights that operate on demand.
Air India said in a statement on Tuesday that it will operate additional flights on the Delhi-London (Heathrow), Mumbai-London (Heathrow), Delhi-Frankfurt, Delhi-Zurich and Delhi-Toronto routes. These flights will add 10,012 seats on the five routes.
It's worth noting that the West Asia conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, which began on February 28, has disrupted flight operations. Air India's additional flights will provide passengers with more options amid limited travel options.

Assess risks before planning flights over conflict-affected areas: Pilots' body
The pilots' union on Tuesday urged its members to ensure that airlines conduct "proper operational risk assessments" before planning flights in or around conflict-affected areas.
The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) India advised all Indian licensed pilots to be aware that the risk environment in conflict-affected areas can change rapidly without proper warning.
Insurance providers may withdraw or limit coverage for activities conducted in high-risk airspace. ALPA India is an affiliate of the International Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA).
Exercise caution when flying in West Asia
IFALPA represents over 100,000 pilots from 90 member associations worldwide. IFALPA India advises all pilots to exercise caution when flying in West Asia and to carefully review all operational briefings, NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen), and company advisories before flight.
Pilots have also been asked to exercise professional discretion and raise "safety concerns" through established reporting channels wherever necessary and seek clarity from their companies regarding insurance coverage and war-risk protection.
