News Topical, Digital Desk : The month of Margashirsha, also known as Agahan, holds special significance in Sanatan Dharma. This month is very dear to Lord Krishna, the protector of the universe. In the 35th verse of the tenth chapter of the holy book, the Gita, Lord Krishna says:

Brihatsam and Samna Gayatri Chhandasamaham.

मासानां मार्गशिर्शोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकारः. 10.35 .

O Partha, I am the Brihatsama of the Shrutis and the Gayatri meter of the Vedic meters. I am Margashirsha among the twelve months and Vastam among the six seasons.

Therefore, special worship of Lord Krishna is performed in the month of Margashirsha, also known as Agahan. Lord Shiva is worshipped on the thirteenth day of the Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha of this month. A fast is also observed for him.   • Trayodashi Tithi begins on November 17 at 4:47 am.
  • End of Trayodashi Tithi - 18th November at 07:12 am

Pradosh Vrat ( When is Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2025)

Pradosh Vrat is observed on the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna and Shukla Paksha of every month. The first Pradosh Vrat of the month of Agahan will be observed on Monday, November 17. Since it falls on Monday, it will be called Som Pradosh Vrat. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshipped during Pradosh Kaal on Trayodashi Tithi. The auspicious time for worship on the first Pradosh Vrat of the month of Agahan is from 5:29 pm to 8:09 pm. 

Som Pradosh Vrat Shubh Yog

The combination of Preeti and Ayushmaan Yoga is forming on the Trayodashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Agahan. Additionally, Abhijit Muhurta Yoga is also forming on the Pradosh fast. Worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati during Ayushmaan Yoga will fulfill every wish of the devotee.
