News Topical, Digital Desk : Politics has also heated up in Rajasthan over Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati's fast at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj. Congress leader Tikaram Julie has targeted the BJP and its governments over this issue.
Tikaram Julie said, "People who have never been able to show their own degrees are demanding proof from Shankaracharya. The BJP is trying to create its own Sanatan. The BJP wants to change the Sanatan that Shankaracharya and others believe in. This cannot be tolerated at all."
He said, "People will only believe in the original Sanatan and will never accept the BJP's Sanatan. Those who are not accepting the BJP's agenda are being targeted. Now it has crossed all limits. Earlier the government was targeting opposition leaders and opposition parties. ED and CBI were being sent to their homes, but now even Shankaracharya, who speaks the truth, is being targeted just because he is raising his voice for mother cow."
'Congress will not tolerate this'
Tikaram Julie also said, "We are working to expose the government's shortcomings, the Congress party will not tolerate this at all. The Congress party is continuously reaching out to the public regarding this issue, we are continuously raising this issue. It is understandable that if this is happening to Shankaracharya, then what would be happening to the common people under the rule of this government."
'Planned propaganda against Shankaracharya'
The Congress leader also said, "If the government is saying that the Congress party is raising this issue, then it should have resolved it on the very first day. Why is the double-engine government still silent on this issue? A well-planned conspiracy is being used to spread false propaganda against Shankaracharya. The government should apologize to Shankaracharya. Saints are not at all hard-hearted and forgive those who make mistakes."
"Power doesn't always stay with you."
Tikaram Julie also said, "BJP members are creating a false perception about Shankaracharya. The BJP should understand that prominent figures come and go. Power doesn't always stay with you. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is a saint, but now he is arrogant with power. Those who came to power in the name of Sanatan are the same people who are now disrespecting saints."
