News Topical, Digital Desk : UP News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Kanpur on Friday, May 31. During this time, he will gift 15 major development projects worth more than Rs 47,573 crore to the city and the state. These include many works like metro, power generation, water purification, fire fighting and road construction. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also participate in this program.

This visit is considered a big step towards development for Uttar Pradesh, especially the city of Kanpur. These projects will play an important role in developing Kanpur once again as an industrial, modern and smart city.

The city will get a new connection from the metro

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new underground section of Kanpur Metro, which will go from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central. 5 new stations have been built on this route - Chunniganj, Bada Chauraha, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central. With the opening of this new section, crowded areas like Lal Imli, Book Market, Green Park, Z Square Mall will be directly connected to the metro.

Let us tell you that in 2021, Prime Minister Modi started the first phase of Kanpur Metro from IIT to Motijheel. Now with the metro reaching the heart of the city, traffic congestion will be reduced and people will get the experience of fast, safe travel.

Energy and industry will get new strength

A 1980 MW (3×660) thermal project at Ghatampur and a new thermal power unit at Panki will be inaugurated. This will ensure a stable supply of electricity in UP and the surrounding states. Also, two railway bridges will be operational from Panki to Kalyanpur, which will facilitate the transportation of coal and fuel.

Work towards water, environment and security

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 40 MLD capacity tertiary treatment plant in Bingawan. This plant will clean the dirty water and make it reusable, which will stop wastage of water and benefit the industries. Apart from this, a new fire station and its buildings will also be inaugurated in Bithoor, which will enable faster response in case of emergency.

Projects across the state will also get a new dimension

During this program, PM Modi will also virtually inaugurate power projects of Greater Noida, Obra, Jawaharpur and Khurja. These will strengthen the industrial strength of Uttar Pradesh.

Foundation stone laid for new schemes worth Rs 441 crore

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for projects related to Kanpur's smart city infrastructure, traffic improvement and defense corridor. This includes widening of Gauriya Pali Marg, 4-lane road from Narwal to Saadh and a new 220 kV substation in YIDA (Greater Noida). This visit of the Prime Minister will open new doors of development not only for Kanpur but for the entire Uttar Pradesh. These schemes in the field of smart city, smart energy and smart transport are a big step towards bringing the state in the league of the leading economies of the country.
