It is believed that this visit of the Prime Minister will pave the way for permanent peace in Manipur, which has been a victim of racial violence for a long time. The opposition has been making an issue of the Prime Minister not visiting Manipur for a long time. After Manipur, the Prime Minister will participate in many programs in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar.
In fact, after a decision of the Manipur High Court, violence started between the Kuki and Meitei communities on May 3, 2023. After that, the Kuki communities closed other roads including NH-2 connecting to Assam.
President's rule imposed in Manipur
After controlling the violence, President's rule was imposed in Manipur in February this year to restore trust. After this, the efforts to make peace by sitting with both the communities separately and then together bore fruit last month.
In Delhi, Kuki militant groups agreed to move their camps away from Meitei dominated areas after signing the Suspension of Operation. The Kuki-Jow organization also agreed to open all highways including NH-2 for movement.

After these efforts towards peace, now the Prime Minister's visit is important to give it stability. By choosing both Kuki-dominated Chuda Chandpur and Meitei-dominated Imphal for Prime Minister Modi's program, a message has been given that the government is giving equal importance to both. In Chuda Chandpur, he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 7300 crore and in Imphal, he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 3600 crore. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of five national highway projects worth Rs 2500 crore, Manipur Infotech Development Project and working women hostels at nine places.
PM Modi will also visit Assam, West Bengal and Bihar
After Manipur, Prime Minister Modi will visit Assam, West Bengal and Bihar, states where assembly elections are to be held in the next few months. In Assam, after participating in the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika on September 13, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 18500 crore on September 14.
On September 15, after inaugurating the 16th Joint Commanders Conference in Kolkata, he will go to Purnia in Bihar. Along with inaugurating the new terminal of the airport in Purnia, he will also launch the newly formed National Makhana Board.

He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various schemes worth around Rs 3600 crore, which include a 2400 MW thermal power plant at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur and an international project connecting Koshi-Mechi river.
