News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 184 newly constructed Type-VII multi-storey flats for Members of Parliament at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi on Monday at around 10 am. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will plant a vermilion plant in his residential complex. The Prime Minister will address the workers on this occasion. He will also interact with the gathering.

The complex is designed to be self-sufficient and is equipped with a full range of modern amenities to meet the functional needs of the Members of Parliament. Incorporating green technology, the project adheres to the standards of GRIHA 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016.

What are the facilities?

  1. These flats have been built keeping the environment in mind. Green technology has been used in it, which will save energy, create renewable energy and manage waste properly.
  2. Special and advanced construction techniques have been used to build these buildings, which makes them very strong and earthquake-resistant. Also, a strong security system has been installed here.
  3. This complex is also completely convenient for the disabled, so that they do not face any kind of problem.
  4. Each flat is around 5,000 square feet, providing ample space for MPs to both live and work.
  5. The complex also has dedicated space for offices, staff accommodation and a community centre to help MPs carry out their work.

This project was started because there was a lack of good accommodation for MPs. Due to less space, the building has been made tall so that the land can be used better and the maintenance cost is also reduced.
