News Topical, Digital Desk : The country is about to receive its first Vande Bharat sleeper train. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first Vande Bharat sleeper train on January 17. This train will run between Kolkata and Guwahati.

Along with the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, six new Amrit Bharat Express trains are also being introduced. Passenger services on these trains will begin on January 17th and 18th.

First Vande Bharat Sleeper Train

On January 17, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Malda Town in West Bengal. This train will run six days a week between Kamakhya and Howrah Junction. Six new Amrit Bharat Expresses are also being introduced for passengers.

52 improvements in 52 weeks

At the Distinguished Railway Service Awards ceremony held in Delhi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that several major reforms are set to take place in Indian Railways in the year 2026. New methods and technologies will be used to ensure passenger safety.

The Railway Minister further said that 52 reforms will be introduced in 52 weeks this year, which will give a new look to Indian Railways in the coming days.

A new structural approach will be introduced to technology and innovation in trains, and AI will be used extensively.
