Israel's Ambassador to India Reuven Azar has made a big disclosure about the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and has linked this attack to the Hamas attack in Israel in 2023. He has described the Pahalgam attack as barbaric and cruel.

Azar said that inviting Hamas terrorists to Pakistan sends a bad signal. He said that this is absolutely unacceptable and we should do whatever we can. Not only should the criminals be caught but steps should be taken to prevent such an incident from happening again.

Much before the Pahalgam attack, the diplomat had expressed concern over reports of leaders of Palestinian terror group Hamas holding meetings with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) terrorists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

‘Terrorists are imitating each other’

Reuven Azar said, "Terrorism cannot be tolerated nor can it be justified. The fact that terrorists are receiving shelter from other organizations cannot be accepted."

He said, “The fact that Hamas terrorists were invited to Pakistan is a bad sign. These terrorists are copying each other and inspiring each other and we have to protect ourselves from them.”

Hamas's links with Kashmiri terrorists

Speaking to NDTV, the Israeli ambassador said, "The terrorists are cooperating with each other at all levels and are copying each other. I am sure the intelligence agencies are working together to defeat them."

He said, "There are similarities between the Pahalgam attack and what happened in Israel on October 7, 2023. Innocent tourists were enjoying their holidays in Pahalgam while people in Israel were celebrating a music festival."

Reuven Azar praised India's response

The Israeli ambassador praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the way India responded after the Pahalgam attack. He said, “I am very encouraged by the strict steps taken by the Indian government.”

Reuven Azar referred to India's diplomatic steps, including the suspension of the 1960 Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan and the immediate closure of the Attari Integrated Check Post in the wake of cross-border ties following the Pahalgam attack.
