New Delhi: Indian shooter Manu Bhaker created history in the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024. She became the first Indian player to win 2 medals in the same Olympics. She targeted the bronze medal with Sarabjot Singh in the 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed events.
However, she missed out on a hat-trick of medals. After the Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaker has taken a 3-month break. During the break, she will fulfill her hobbies.
I will make time for my hobbies
Talking to PTI, she said, "Now that I have a break, I can practice martial arts again. I did not have that much time earlier, but now I can make time for my hobbies. I am fond of horse riding, skating and fitness workouts. Apart from this, I am learning Bharatnatyam. I like Indian dance styles. I am also learning to play the violin." Manu was accompanied by her coach and great shooter Jaspal Rana.
Coach doesn't want Manu to ride a horse
Manu Bhaker's revelation of her bucket list for the vacation brought a smile to Jaspal Rana's face, who said no to horse riding. "Then she has to return in one piece," he said. Manu laughed hearing this. "She should not go skating and horse riding because if anything happens, she will be responsible. Who sits on a horse thinking that he will fall," Rana said.
Manu said, "I was waiting for the Olympics to get over. I want to go horse riding. I also want to go sky diving, scuba diving. I have waited a long time."
Taking a break due to injury
Coach Rana said, "Due to the injury, we are giving her a three-month break. She has had this injury for the last eight months which has not healed yet. That is why rest is necessary. We had taken this decision much before the announcement of the World Cup. In this break, she will not only shoot but will do yoga etc. in the morning." Let us tell you that Manu will not play in the ISSF World Cup Final and National Championship to be held in Delhi in October.
