How were the Pahalgam terror attackers identified
On Saturday, the Army launched the operation after the Pahalgam attackers were traced through signals emitted from a Chinese satellite phone used by them. For the second time in the last 17 days, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police reached Mulnar Peak near Lidwas ground of the strategically important Mahadev Peak in Zabarwan Range in the forests of Dachigam on the outskirts of Srinagar city and it was named Operation Mahadev.
War material and satellite phone recovered
Along with the weapons, ammunition and explosives seized from the slain Pakistani terrorists, the satellite phone was also recovered which had provided clues to the army. Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information in the Parliament and said that these three slain terrorists are the same ones who killed 26 civilians on 22 April. According to sources, these attackers had also used satellite phones in the Baisaran area on 11 July before carrying out the Pahalgam attack. Since then, several teams of the army and police were searching for them even at night, due to which they were frequently changing their hideouts and hiding in the forest. According to sources, the terrorists were resting in the tent when the army attacked them and captured them, after which all three were killed in the encounter.
