News Topical, Digital Desk : Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the month of Ashwin is considered very special in the Sanatan scriptures. Papankusha Ekadashi (Papankusha Ekadashi 2025) is celebrated in this month. On this date,  Tulsi is worshipped along with Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe  , and Goddess Lakshmi. However, certain rules must be followed during Tulsi Puja.

According to religious belief, Tulsi Mata observes a dry fast on Ekadashi. Therefore, offering water to Tulsi or plucking Tulsi leaves on Ekadashi may break her fast and the devotee may face the displeasure of Goddess Lakshmi. Therefore, let us learn about the rules related to Tulsi (Tulsi Niyam) in this article.

Do not make such a mistake even by mistake

According to religious belief, Tulsi Mata (Tulsi Puja Niyam) observes a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi. Therefore, offering water to Tulsi is prohibited on this Ekadashi. Tulsi leaves should also not be plucked. This mistake can break Tulsi Mata's fast and lead to many life-threatening problems.

Be sure to keep this in mind

It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, resides in clean places. Therefore, on Ekadashi, pay special attention to the cleanliness around the Tulsi plant. After bathing in the morning, light a ghee lamp near the Tulsi plant and perform aarti to Tulsi Mata. After this, chant Tulsi mantras. According to religious belief, worshipping Tulsi on Ekadashi increases wealth and fills life with happiness.

Must include basil leaves in the offering

On Ekadashi, be sure to include basil leaves in the offerings to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that if basil leaves are not included, the Lord will not accept the offerings.
