News Topical, Digital Desk : After the results of Maharashtra assembly elections, the Election Commission has decided to make solid preparations to deal with the allegations of irregularities in the voter list being made by Congress and other opposition parties. If any political party makes allegations of irregularities in the voter list, then it will have to answer for itself.

This means that the party will be held accountable for every name added or deleted from the voter list. Under this, written consent will be taken from the booth level agents (BLAs) of political parties appointed at polling stations for every name added or deleted from the voter list. The commission has taken this step when allegations of irregularities are being made in the revision of voter list despite the representatives of political parties being involved full time.

According to the Commission, after this, if any political party makes allegations of irregularities, then they can be told that their booth level agent had given consent for this.

Not only this, if any objection is raised from their side regarding the addition or deletion of a name, a complete record of the decision taken on it will be kept. In this entire process, the commission will also ensure that the presence of the booth level agent (BLA) associated with the political parties at each booth during the revision is also certified.

If sources related to the commission are to be believed, this system will be implemented in the revision of voter list which is going to start in Bihar. For this, along with the Booth Level Officer (BLO), Booth Level Agents (BLA) associated with political parties have also been given special training.

Under this, if the BLA has any objection regarding any name, then he will have to register it with the reason. Later the ERO (Voter Registration Officer) will investigate it and decide on it. If the political parties still have any objection, then they can challenge it with the District Election Officer (DEO) and later with the State Election Officer.
