News Topical, Digital Desk : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two fugitives in a 2023 case related to the Pune sleeper module of the banned terrorist organization ISIS. The case is related to making and testing IEDs in Pune, Maharashtra. The two arrested accused have been identified as Abdullah Fayaz Sheikh alias Diaperwala and Talha Khan. Both of them were caught by the Bureau of Immigration at Mumbai International Airport T2. They were trying to return to India from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The NIA team took them into custody and arrested them.
Both the accused were absconding for the last 2 years
Both these accused were absconding for the last 2 years and the NIA Special Court of Mumbai had issued a non-bailable warrant against them. The NIA had also announced a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh each for providing information about these two. This case is related to a criminal conspiracy hatched by Abdullah Fayaz Sheikh and Talha Khan along with 8 other members of the already arrested ISIS Pune sleeper module. These people had conspired to carry out terrorist activities to disrupt the peace and communal harmony of India.
The aim was to establish Islamic rule
The motive of the accused was to establish Islamic rule through violence and terror against the Government of India while furthering the agenda of ISIS. Chargesheet has already been filed against these two accused along with other arrested accused. They were involved in making IEDs in a house rented by Abdullah Fayaz Sheikh in Kondhwa, Pune. During 2022-2023, they had organized a workshop for bomb making and training. Also, they had carried out a controlled explosion to test the IEDs made by them.
Know what are the names of the rest of the accused
The NIA is actively investigating the activities of ISIS in India to foil its violent and anti-India terror designs. A chargesheet has already been filed against all the 10 accused in the case under various sections of the UAPA, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act and IPC. Apart from Abdullah Fayaz Sheikh and Talha Khan, the other accused arrested in the case are Mohammad Imran Khan, Mohammad Yunus Saqi, Abdul Qadir Pathan, Simab Nasiruddin Qazi, Zulfiqar Ali Barodawala, Shamil Nachan, Aqeef Nachan and Shahnawaz Alam. The investigation in the case is still underway.
