Kolkata: Amid the ongoing protests after the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical Hospital, a woman was allegedly molested by a co-passenger inside a moving bus in Kolkata's Kasba area on Tuesday morning, police said.
A police officer said that the incident happened around 9:30 am when the woman started shouting in the bus, after which the passengers caught the accused and beat him up. The woman is around 25 years old.
The officer said that the accused tried to escape by getting off the bus but people nearby caught him and they took him to Kasba police station. The woman lodged a complaint at the police station and later the accused was arrested. The officer said that the woman was going to work in a flower garden from Kasba. He said that the matter is being investigated.
