Rain alert in 8 districts of Kerala
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Kerala for July 31. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert in 5 districts including Wayanad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad Kannur and Kasaragod districts, while a yellow alert has been issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad districts. In view of the heavy rains, holiday has been declared in schools and colleges in 12 districts of Kerala.
Red alert issued in these states too
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Karnataka today. At the same time, there is an orange alert in Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today.
There will be heavy rain in these states for 3 days
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Maharashtra in the next three days. Goa will receive very heavy rainfall till August 3, while Maharashtra will have similar weather conditions today. Very heavy rains have been predicted in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the coming three days.
How will the weather be in those states, including Himachal-Uttarakhand and Kashmir?
The Meteorological Department has forecast very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand till August 1. Heavy rains are expected in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh on July 31 and August 1, as well as in Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh on August 1.
Apart from this, heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan till August 3 and over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh till August 2.
The situation in Kerala is still bad
IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Karnataka on July 31. Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe on July 31 and August 01.
