News Topical, Digital Desk : Opposition parties created a ruckus in both the houses of Parliament on Friday demanding a discussion on the detailed revision of voter list (SIR) in Bihar. Due to this, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day. The proceedings in both the houses of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha started with the ruckus of the opposition on the fifteenth day also.

Sitharaman withdraws the ‘Income Tax Bill, 2025’

Before the Lok Sabha was adjourned, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman withdrew the 'Income Tax Bill, 2025', on which the Select Committee had submitted its report.

 

Kiren Rijiju said- the attitude of opposition parties is not right

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that it is unfortunate that the opposition parties are creating disruptions at a time when private bills are to be discussed. The opposition parties should not say that the government did not cooperate, because the government has been saying from the beginning that it is ready to discuss all issues under the rules.

Opposition members raised slogans of take back SIR in Lok Sabha

Referring to the special revision of voter list in Bihar, opposition members raised slogans like take back SIR, discuss SIR in the Lok Sabha.

 

The presiding officer objected to the thumping of the Lok Sabha Speaker's table

Some members were also seen thumping the Lok Sabha Speaker's table, to which the presiding officer Krishna Prasad Teneti strongly objected. Teneti said, this is not a drum. You cannot beat the table like this. I strongly object to this.

Rajya Sabha proceedings were also disrupted by uproar and the House was adjourned for the day after 12 noon amid vehement protests by opposition members over special deep revision of voter list in Bihar, allegations of vote theft by the Congress and various other issues.

 

The House was first adjourned till 12 noon after the Deputy Chairman rejected all notices under Rule 267 and adjourned all other business.

Rajya Sabha adjourned after continuous uproar by opposition

Then it was adjourned for the whole day amid the continuous uproar of the opposition. After the first adjournment, when the proceedings of the house resumed at 12 noon, the presiding officer Ghanshyam Tiwari urged the members to allow the Question Hour to continue, but the opposition MPs continued their protest.
