News Topical, Digital Desk : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Goa on Thursday. Governance and development priorities will be discussed at the conference. A senior Goa Assembly official said Mr Birla will inaugurate the event at 10:40 am on Thursday and address the House at 12:10 pm.
The event will be held at a hotel in Panaji, where senior parliamentary leaders from Western India are expected to participate in discussions related to key governance and development priorities. The conference aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation and promote meaningful dialogue on regional and national issues.
The conference will also provide a platform for the exchange of best legislative practices and for collaborative approaches to address contemporary challenges in governance. The event will feature two plenary sessions.
The first session, scheduled for April 9, will focus on "Role of young public representatives in achieving the goals of a developed India by 2047", while the second session, on April 10, will focus on "Priorities for Zone-VII in trade, tourism, urbanisation, environment and coastal connectivity".
