New Delhi: In the last three-four months, incidents of trains being overturned by placing heavy objects and gas cylinders on the railway tracks are clearly pointing towards a terrorist conspiracy. The railways also have similar suspicions. That is why, taking reference of the incident of Kalindi Express on Monday near Kanpur, the responsibility of investigation has been handed over to NIA and STF.

Possibility of involvement of terrorists

After several incidents of train derailment in a planned manner, the railways informed the Uttar Pradesh GRP suspecting a terrorist connection. After preliminary investigation, the GRP handed over the case to the NIA and STF. It is reported that the agencies are investigating it from different angles. Although the railways are refraining from saying anything officially in this matter, but the officials are assuming that the possibility of terrorists being behind the incidents happening on the tracks cannot be ruled out.

Two dozen incidents in three months

During the last three months, there have been about two dozen such incidents in a particular part of the country, in which a conspiracy has been hatched to overturn trains by placing gas cylinders, heavy objects, large pieces of wood or iron on the railway tracks. Such incidents are mostly happening in some states of North India, the news of which was already published in Dainik Jagran that how the lives of passengers are being put in danger by damaging the railway track in a particular part, but then the railways remained silent. However, a few days later, while answering questions, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav did not rule out the possibility of a terrorist conspiracy and said that this trend has been seen for the last few days, which is disturbing.

More incidents are happening in five states

Generally, faulty tracks, signal failure, mistake of the loco pilot and other kinds of mistakes are responsible for train accidents, but during the last three months, more than 85 percent of the incidents are due to derailment of trains.

According to official sources of the railways, in the 23 major incidents of train derailment since June, most of the accidents have happened due to some heavy object or cylinder kept on the track. The railways are also surprised by the fact that most of the train derailment incidents are happening in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, for safe and smooth rail operations, the railways have also warned the general public that only the railways have the right to cross the tracks for monitoring. Walking on the track or making videos is dangerous and also illegal.
