News Topical, Digital Desk : The battle between Karna and Arjuna was one of the most fierce battles in the history of the Mahabharata. On this day, two great warriors faced each other. It was not just a battle between two warriors, but a fight for the honor of two supreme archers. During this battle, there came a moment when death itself stood before Arjuna (Arjuna survival in Mahabharata) , and his life was in danger. But the divine play of Lord Krishna changed the entire history.
Revenge of the Serpent Aswasena
Karna possessed a highly destructive weapon, the Nagastra. This weapon contained a serpent named Ashwasen. Ashwasen wanted to avenge Arjuna for the death of his mother at the hands of Arjuna's arrows during the Khandava Forest burning. Burning with vengeance, he leapt into Karna's quiver at the first opportunity.
Karna's stubbornness
When Karna drew his Nagastra to kill Arjuna (Arjuna Life Danger) , the arrow began to blaze with the power of Ashwasen. Karna's charioteer, Maharathi Shalya, warned Karna, "Karna, your aim is for Arjuna's head. Lower it a little and aim for Arjuna's chest. If he bows his head, your attack will be in vain." But Karna, filled with pride (Karna Battle Story), said, "Karna does not change his aim again and again." Karna released the infallible arrow, aiming at Arjuna's neck.
Miracle of Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna knew this was no ordinary arrow. Even if it touched Arjuna, his life would be impossible to save. As the Nagastra approached Arjuna, Krishna (Krishna Saved Arjuna) forcefully pressed the chariot down with his right big toe.
At the mere touch of the Lord, Arjuna's divine chariot sank five inches into the ground. As a result, the arrow that was about to sever Arjuna's neck instead pierced the crown atop his head, but Arjuna's life was spared.
Following the Kshatriya Dharma
Ashwasen went to Karna again and said, “Let me shoot again this time, and I will ensure Arjuna’s death.” But the generous Karna, following his Kshatriya Dharma, said, “Karna does not shoot an arrow once shot, even if the result is defeat.” Arjuna then killed Ashwasen.
