New Delhi: A monkeypox patient admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital earlier this month has been discharged, hospital authorities have confirmed. The 26-year-old patient, who was admitted to the crisis ward for monkeypox for about 12 days, was discharged on Saturday.
A hospital official said the only monkeypox patient was discharged on September 21. The 26-year-old patient from Hisar in Haryana was admitted to the hospital on September 8 and doctors confirmed him with the disease on September 9.
Lok Nayak Hospital has 20 isolation rooms, of which 10 are for suspected cases and the rest for confirmed monkeypox patients. Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital and Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital have five rooms each for suspected monkeypox cases and five each for confirmed cases.
