Lucknow News: Former Minister of State wrote a letter to CM Yogi, 'Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla should be given special respect'

News Topical, Digital Desk : Former State Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government and former Legislative Council member Mohsin Raza has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding special honor for Lucknow resident and astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla. Let us tell you that Shubhanshu Shukla has reached India for the first time after traveling to space. Meanwhile, he will also visit his city Lucknow. 

Mohsin Raza has written in his letter that on 26 June 2025, Shubhanshu Shukla made history by successfully traveling to the International Space Station from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. He has become the second Indian and the first resident of Uttar Pradesh to go to space. This achievement is a matter of pride for the entire state and the country.

The former minister has requested the Chief Minister to honour Shubhanshu Shukla. In this, he has demanded that Shubhanshu should be given the state's highest civilian honour, any major road/square or building in Lucknow should be named after him, a grand state felicitation ceremony on his return to India, he should be made the brand ambassador of Uttar Pradesh and should be associated with science education and youth inspiration.

Along with this, he has suggested that the government should also provide an honorarium of ₹ 5 crore so that future generations can be inspired in the field of science, innovation and space research. Let us tell you that Shubhanshu is a resident of Lucknow and the whole city is eagerly waiting for his welcome and honor. 

What did the former minister say?

Mohsin Raza said that Shubhanshu Shukla's achievement is a proud moment not only for Uttar Pradesh but for the entire India. Giving him due respect and recognition by the state government will infuse new energy and inspiration in the youth towards science and research.

Let us tell you that to give him special respect, Lucknow Nagar Nigam has promised to name a road and a park near his house. Anyway, the whole city is eagerly waiting to welcome its son.
