News Topical, Digital Desk : After playing for the Indian cricket team for nearly 18 years, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh is now starting his new innings in the entertainment world with cricket commentary. Harbhajan, who made his acting debut with the Tamil film 'Friendship' released in 2021, is also hosting the chat show 'Who is the Bass' on YouTube with his wife and actress Geeta Basra.
What did Harbhajan Singh say about acting?
Regarding working in a Tamil film, Harbhajan says, 'I never had the idea of working in films. While playing IPL for Chennai Super Kings, I started tweeting in Tamil language with the help of a friend. After that, people liked those tweets a lot.
Seeing that, the producer offered me a film and said that your fan following is very good. I also told him that I have never done professional acting before, nor do I know how to do it. Still he said that we will manage. Now along with this, he was also offering good money, so I thought let's do it. If nothing happens, at least it will be an experience.
However, acting was a different challenge for me. I was not able to cry in the crying scenes. The team used to apply glycerine, but still I was not able to make a crying face. I was not able to understand the Tamil dialogues of the film. I used to just repeat whatever the other person said.
No aversion to films in this language
During this time, I realized that acting is not easy.' Regarding acting in Hindi or Punjabi films in the coming days, Harbhajan says, ‘I have no problem with the language in Hindi and Punjabi, but I should know acting. If I ever have to come into this line, then I will have to learn it first.’
Bhajji was also seen in this movie
Not only the South film 'Friendship', but Harbhajan Singh was also seen in the cult film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi starring Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In the climax scene of the film, Bhajji was seen doing a cameo with his fellow players.
