Mallapuram: Another case of monkeypox has been reported in the country. A person who returned to Kerala from Dubai has been found infected. The Kerala government has confirmed this. The 38-year-old man is undergoing treatment in Mallapuram district. The health department said that monkeypox infection has been confirmed in the man.

Confirmed in a person who returned from UAE

Kerala Health Minister Veena George has written a post on Facebook. She informed that a person who recently came from UAE was already admitted in a hospital here due to symptoms of ampox. The minister requested all people, including those coming from abroad, to report any symptoms and seek treatment as soon as possible.

Infected person isolated

The health minister further said that after the symptoms were seen, the person has isolated himself from his family as a precautionary measure. He is currently admitted in Manjeri Medical College here. The person's samples were sent for testing and the report came positive on Wednesday.
