New Delhi: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has commented against India many times, once again said that Muslims are being persecuted in India. The Ministry of External Affairs made a strong comment on this statement of Iran's Supreme Leader.

The Ministry of External Affairs said, "We strongly condemn the remarks made by Iran's Supreme Leader about minorities in India. These are ill-informed and unacceptable. Countries making comments on minorities are advised to look at their own record before making any comments about others."

What did Khamenei say?

On Monday, on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's birth anniversary, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said there is a need for solidarity among Muslims around the world. "If we are oblivious to the suffering of any Muslim in Myanmar, Gaza, India or any other place, then we should not consider ourselves Muslims," Khamenei wrote in a post on X.

He has also commented on the Kashmir issue

Even before this, Iran's Supreme Leader has given statements against India. In the year 2019, when Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had expressed concern over the condition of Muslims in Kashmir.
