The post, shared by a user named Shabana Shaikh, had a picture of Asha Bhosle wearing a garland with a misleading caption announcing her demise.

The post read, "Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away - end of a musical era (01 July 2025)." Now reacting to these baseless rumours, Asha's son Anand Bhosle has rubbished these claims and told ETimes, “It is false.”

The actress was seen at the screening of Rekha's film

A few days ago, the singer attended the screening of Rekha's 1981 classic film "Umrao Jaan" in Mumbai, which has now been re-released in theatres after 44 years. The popular song "Yeh kya jagah hai dosto" was originally sung by Asha Bhosle for the film.

I was trying to sing a song

During the screening, the 91-year-old singer tried singing the song once again, though she was having some difficulty. Rekha got emotional and hugged her from behind and was seen supporting her. "She is choking me," joked Asha, to which Rekha laughed. Asha also celebrated her husband, late music composer Rahul Dev Burman's 85th birth anniversary on June 27.

First marriage at the age of 16

Let us tell you that Asha Bhosle eloped and married Ganpatrao Bhosle at the age of 16. They got married against the wishes of their family and had three children. However, the two separated in 1960. After this, Asha married music director-actor R.D. Burman in 1980 and the two remained together until his death in 1994.
