PM Modi reached Kiev by train from Poland
PM Modi, who reached Kiev by train from Poland, was given a warm welcome by President Zelensky despite the current tense atmosphere. PM Modi greeted him by hugging him in his special style. Both the leaders visited the museum built in memory of children killed in the war. PM Modi also became emotional after watching the film shown there.
In his press statement about this, he said- 'I have seen the museum built in the memory of children with you. My heart is full. My heart is deeply hurt. Now I feel that the first victim of war is human being and in that too children become the first victims. This is very painful. Such incidents cannot be accepted in any civilized society.'
The first meeting of the two leaders took place in 2021
Saturday (24 August) is the National Day of Ukraine, on which Modi greeted the President of Ukraine and the people there on behalf of 140 crore Indians. PM Modi's first meeting with Zelensky took place in November 2021 and it was then that he received an invitation to visit Ukraine.
There has been a war going on between Russia and Ukraine since February 2022. Modi said that I could not have imagined then that I would have to visit Ukraine in such a situation, but despite the current tense atmosphere, there is progress in the relations between the two countries which shows that we are working on the relations with maturity.

We have stayed away from the war, but that does not mean that we have remained neutral. We have been a party from the very first day and our side is for peace. He said that India is ready to help in every possible way for peace. I will also make personal efforts for this.
