New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in many states on September 24 i.e. today. A red alert has been issued for extremely heavy rains in Konkan Goa and coastal Karnataka. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, northern interior Karnataka. An alert has also been issued for heavy rains and thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Odisha, Jharkhand, Kerala and Northeast India.

Southwest monsoon returns

Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely over coastal and north interior Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa during three days and heavy rainfall over central, east and northeast India during September 24-27. The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from some places of west Rajasthan and Kutch on September 23 instead of its normal date of September 17.

Alert in these states on 25 September

A red alert has also been issued in Konkan Goa on September 25. Apart from this, there is an orange alert in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam. Very heavy rains are expected here. Heavy rains are expected in Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.

Alert in 19 states on 26 September

On September 26, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning in 19 states. An orange alert has been issued in Konkan Goa. Apart from this, there is a warning of very heavy rain in Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

Heavy rains are expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha of Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat.

There will be heavy rain here on 27 September

On September 27 i.e. Friday, there may be heavy rains in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Alert in nine states on September 28

There is a heavy rain alert in nine states on September 28. Heavy rain is likely to continue in Gujarat, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. On September 29, there is a heavy rain alert in only four states - Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Kerala.
