News Topical, Digital Desk : Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided that it will launch a campaign to free all Hindu temples from government control. For this, VHP will meet the Chief Ministers of all states from September 7 and will put pressure on them to free Hindu temples from government control.

Talking to reporters after the two-day VHP Central Management Committee meeting in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, VHP International President Alok Kumar said that the government does not run churches, mosques, gurudwaras, but it runs temples. The law of many states says that 12 percent of the temple's income will be deposited in the government treasury as administrative expenses. Two percent is charged as audit fees.

Resolution to free the temple from government control

He said that if an administrator is appointed in the temple, his salary and allowance will be taken from the temple. Whereas the government is not able to protect our lands. It is also not able to ensure that worship is done in a good environment in the temple. Therefore, from September 7, we will meet every Chief Minister and tell them that they will have to free the temple from government control.

Kumar said that we will meet every MLA in the assembly sessions and ask them to pressurize their party leadership to return the temple. In this way, by taking back all the temples from government control, they will be run by a trust, which will include all sections of devotees. At least one woman, one person from Scheduled Caste and if tribes also live in that area, then one person from the tribal society will also be included in the trust.

Opinion expressed on Hindi-Marathi controversy

  • Responding to a question on the Hindi-Marathi controversy going on in Maharashtra these days, Alok Kumar said that this controversy is unfortunate. We are people who believe in the Constitution. Therefore, we consider all the languages included in the schedule of the Constitution as national languages. These include Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, all languages. The makers of the Constitution have also accepted that if the state work is done in the state language, it will be convenient for the people.
  • But the language of communication in the country will be Hindi. Now the government has formed a committee to decide from which class Hindi should be taught. Everyone will give their opinion to that committee. The decision based on that will be acceptable. I do not see any conflict or opposition between Hindi and Marathi. Alok Kumar said that nowadays there is a conspiracy to create controversy by making small issues related to language, province and culture big.
  • Right now it is being said that some people will not register themselves as Hindus in the upcoming census. We will also fight these forces. Marxists, radical Islamists, expansionist church, foreign money and commercialism are such challenges that are creating animosity by forming tukde-tukde gangs. We have appealed to the Hindu society, saints and social organizations to go to the society and oppose the controversies being created in this manner.
