'Jumped from the third floor...' Vicky Kaushal's father's condition was such when he got cancer, he asked God for 10 years

News Topical, Digital Desk : Action director Sham Kaushal talked about a painful chapter of his life. Vicky's father was deeply shocked when the doctors told him that he had cancer and said that his chances of survival were very low. He came to know about this disease in the year 2003. In a recent podcast chat with Aman Aujla, he revealed how the news had devastated him so much that he thought of taking his own life.

Why did Vicky Kaushal's father take this decision?

Sham Kaushal has been in Bollywood and international cinema for more than 40 years. In 2003, he had a surgery after which he came to know about his cancer. Recalling that moment, he said, "I was informed about this in the evening and at night I thought of jumping from the third floor of the hospital, where my room was." He further said, “I did not take this decision due to weakness, but thought that when I have to die, why not now? But due to the pain after the surgery, I was not even able to move.”

By that time, Kaushal had become an established name in the industry. He started out as a stuntman and then became an independent action director with the 1990 Malayalam film Indrajaalam. Over the years, he designed stunts for films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Sanju, Tiger Zinda Hai and the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.

The actor expressed happiness for the family

He further said, 'After the conversation, I got over the fear of death. The next morning, I woke up with new hope that just a few surgeries and I will be fine. After this incident, my outlook towards life changed. It strengthened my willpower. I had asked God for 10 years and today it has been 22 years. Everything is fine. The family is happy. My son is married and he is doing well in his life.'
