New Delhi: On Friday, the Centre removed BSF Director General Nitin Agarwal and Special Director General (West) Y B Khurania with immediate effect and repatriated them to their respective state cadres.
Khurania is a 1990-batch Odisha cadre officer.
They are being repatriated prematurely with immediate effect, said orders issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Agarwal is a 1989 batch Kerala cadre officer, while Khurania is a 1990 batch Odisha cadre officer.
Khurania was leading the force on the Pakistan border
Aggarwal took over as Border Security Force chief in June last year. Khurania was heading the force on the Pakistan border as Special Director General (West). The BSF, with about 2.65 lakh personnel, guards the Indian borders with Pakistan in the west and Bangladesh in the east.
