New Delhi: The way has been cleared for the release of actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency, which is embroiled in controversies over the farmers' issue. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Thursday informed the Bombay High Court that it is ready to issue a certificate to the film 'Emergency'. But some parts of the film will have to be cut.
It was earlier scheduled to release on September 6
Earlier this film was to be released on 6th September. But due to non-receipt of certificate, the release date of the film had to be postponed. Let us tell you that this film of BJP MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut is based on the Emergency imposed in the country in 1975. Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.
Now the hearing will be held on September 30
In the last hearing, the High Court had reprimanded the Censor Board for not taking a decision on issuing the certificate of the film. During the hearing on Thursday, the counsel for the Censor Board told the court that the Board's revision committee has suggested cutting some parts before releasing the film.
On the other hand, the film's production company Zee Entertainment has sought time to decide whether cuts can be made in the film or not. The next hearing will be on September 30.
