New Delhi: Even after the political upheaval and coup in Bangladesh, the violent protests in the country have not subsided. Various pictures of violence are coming from different parts of the country.

Protesters are targeting national monuments. Statues at the 1971 Shaheed Memorial site in Mujibnagar have been vandalised. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed concern over this incident and has urged the interim government of Bangladesh to maintain law and order.

'It is sad to see such pictures of destruction by miscreants'

Shashi Tharoor said in his social media post, 'It is sad to see such pictures of the statues located in the Shaheed Memorial Complex in Mujibnagar being destroyed by anti-India miscreants in the year 1971. This incident has happened after the outrageous attacks on Indian cultural centers, temples and Hindu homes in many places, while there have also been reports that Muslim citizens are protecting other minority homes and places of worship.'

'Such anarchy can never be forgiven'

Shashi Tharoor further said that the agenda of some agitators is very clear. It is necessary that Mohammad Yunus and his interim government take immediate steps to restore law and order in the interest of all Bangladeshis and people of every religion. India stands with the people of Bangladesh in this turbulent time, but such anarchy can never be forgiven.
