Sagar: Police personnel in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh have had to pay a heavy price for their negligence in filing a complaint of theft of iPhones worth Rs. 1200 crores. In this case, one police officer has been suspended and 2 have been suspended.

What is the whole matter?

Sagar's Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Uike said that the policemen against whom Sagar Zone's Inspector General of Police Pramod Verma took action on Friday include Bandri police station in-charge inspector Bhagchand Uike and assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Pandey. They have been put on line duty. Constable Rajesh Pandey has been suspended. 

According to the information received, the driver of the truck carrying the consignment of iPhones had contacted the police immediately after the incident, but the officials did not register a complaint based on his statement. 

According to the driver, the alleged robbery/theft took place on August 15, when the container was on its way from Gurugram in Haryana to Chennai. The driver alleged that he was drugged and gagged during the robbery. 

Sagar's Additional Superintendent of Police said, "We are verifying the transporters' claim that about 1,500 iPhones worth Rs 11 crore were stolen. Apple, the manufacturer of these phones, has not yet contacted the police. I am currently at the spot, about 35 km from the district headquarters, and the truck is being videographed."

"The container was on its way to Chennai from Gurugram in Haryana. The robbery started when the container was in neighbouring district Narsinghpur. A case will be registered soon after the preliminary investigation is completed. Meanwhile, further investigation into the incident is underway," he said.
