What caused the loss of lives
The police report contains numerous revelations. It also details the reasons why people lost their lives. The investigation report also reveals a shocking finding: SBL Company blatantly violated government regulations and safety rules. Preliminary reports from PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization) and DISH (Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health) have indicted the company.
Explosives were not shifted to another building
The company stored the processed explosives in the non-removal crimping unit without immediately moving them to another building, causing the entire building to collapse. A team from PESO and DISH visited the SBL company on June 21, 2024, and conducted a safety inspection.
Numerous errors were discovered at the time. The team instructed SBL to make necessary improvements, but the company ignored them. Had the company taken action at that time, the lives of 19 workers might not have been lost.
