News Topical, Digital Desk : In Meerut's infamous "Blue Drum" Saurabh murder case, accused wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla were presented in court on Tuesday. Muskan arrived with her infant daughter in her arms. This time, both were presented in person. Previously, their appearances were made via video conferencing from jail. 

Police brought Muskan and Sahil, accused in the Saurabh murder case, to court under tight security. No one was allowed to approach them during this time. Police first brought Sahil to court. Sahil was wearing a white cap. He was seen hiding his face when he saw the media cameras. 

Muskan took the girl to court

Following Sahil, the police brought Muskan to the court. Muskan, also wearing a mask and covering her face with a scarf, arrived carrying her six-month-old daughter in her arms and, with her head bowed, walked straight into the courtroom. Both were surrounded by police. 

Personal appearance of both the accused for the first time

This is the first time since their arrest that both accused, Muskan and Sahil, have been presented in person before the court. Previously, their hearings were conducted via video conferencing. So far, 22 witnesses have testified in this case. On Tuesday, the court also conducted crucial questioning sessions with both for approximately 20 minutes each. 

The Saurabh murder case in Meerut has been in the news. It is alleged that Saurabh's wife, Muskan Rastogi, conspired with her lover, Sahil, to murder her husband and then dismember his body and packed it in a blue drum with cement. This case has become extremely sensational. 

Following Muskan and Sahil's testimony, the court is expected to frame charges against both of them soon. This will then begin the next phase of the trial.
