
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Bombay High Court on Monday said that the city has come to a complete standstill due to the Maratha reservation agitation and the situation is serious. According to the information, agitator Manoj Jarange has given up water on the fourth day of the agitation.
The High Court urged restoration of normalcy in Mumbai and asked Jarangi, who is leading the agitation, and his supporters to improve the situation and clear all roads by Tuesday noon.

The court asked the Maharashtra government why the roads occupied by agitators who had come to Mumbai from different parts of the state were not being cleared and directed it to ensure that no more protesters enter Mumbai.
'...then 5 crore Marathas will take to the streets'
Situated some 100 metres from Azad Maidan, as the reservation agitation and its consequences were being debated in the high court, Jarang activists stood firm and warned that over five crore Marathas would take to the streets of Mumbai if chief minister Devendra Fadnavis did not heed the reservation demands of the numerically strong community.
Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil gave signs of reconciliation
Indicating a breakthrough amid the impasse, senior minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, who heads the Cabinet sub-committee on Maratha reservation, said the Mahayuti government was working on a solution that would stand in court.
Jarange on hunger strike from 29 August
Manoj Jarange has been on a hunger strike at Azad Maidan since Friday (August 29) demanding 10 per cent reservation for the Maratha community in government jobs and education under OBC. His supporters claimed that he has stopped drinking water since Monday.
