News Topical, Digital Desk : As of Monday, 441 climbers, including 79 women, have been given permission to climb Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. According to Himal Gautam, director of Nepal Tourism Department, so far 44 expeditions from 55 countries have been given permission to climb Everest.

 

1,095 climbers given permission

He said that these include 75 Indian mountaineers including 12 women. He said that the Tourism Department has given permission to 1,095 mountaineers to climb 26 different mountain peaks including Everest this season.

 

So far, more than 8,000 Nepali and foreign climbers have climbed Everest. He said that hundreds of climbers have already reached the base camp of Everest. They are moving forward to climb Everest. Some of them are expected to reach the peak by May 11 or 12.

 

American climber dies while climbing Mount Makalu in Nepal

An American climber has died while climbing Mount Makalu in eastern Nepal. This is the second death in the climbing season that began in March.

 

Makalu peak is 8,463 meters high

The world's fifth highest peak, Makalu, is 8,463 meters high, while the highest peak, Mount Everest, is 8,849 meters high. Expedition organiser Madison Mountaineering said 39-year-old Alexander Panko died on Sunday.
