News Topical, Digital Desk : Monsoon havoc continued in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday as well. 10 more incidents of cloudburst were reported in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, officials have recovered two more bodies, after which the death toll in rain and landslide related incidents rose to 10. Let us tell you that Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh has been the worst affected by this. Many incidents of sudden floods, landslides and cloudbursts were seen here, due to which there has been a lot of devastation in Mandi. Due to continuous heavy rains in the area, the water of Beas river is also in spate, due to which Mandi district is also facing floods. 

Meteorological department issued alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the state, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, landslides and flash floods over the next few days. Authorities have advised residents to remain vigilant and avoid travelling in vulnerable areas. Damage due to cloudburst has been reported from several areas including Thunag in Mandi, Kutti Bypass in Karsog, Purana Bazar in Karsog, Rikki in Karsog, Syanj in Gohar, Bassi in Gohar, Talwara in Gohar, Syathi in Dharampur and Bhadarna in Dharampur.

51 people have died so far

Due to heavy rains, cloudburst and landslides, 282 roads in Himachal Pradesh remained closed till 10 am on Wednesday. Apart from this, 1361 electricity transformers and 639 water supply schemes have been affected. The maximum number of 182 roads have been reported to be closed in Mandi district. After this, 37 roads are closed in Kullu, 33 in Shimla and 12 in Sirmaur. Let us tell you that since the beginning of the monsoon season on June 20, 51 people have died till July 1 due to incidents like cloudburst, flood and landslides. At the same time, 103 people have been injured in such incidents. Apart from this, 22 people are still missing.
