Monsoon entered Kerala
According to meteorologists, there is no direct relationship between the date of arrival of monsoon and the total rainfall in this season across the country. The arrival of monsoon early or late in Kerala does not mean that it will reach other parts of the country in the same way. An official said that it depends on large-scale variability and global, regional and local characteristics. In the month of April, the IMD had predicted above normal rainfall in the monsoon season of the year 2025. Also, the IMD had ruled out the possibility of El Niño conditions, which are responsible for below normal rainfall in the Indian subcontinent.
