On Ekadashi, be sure to offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu. After the puja, take a few leaves and immerse them in water in the name of your ancestors or place them at the root of a Peepal tree. Goddess Tulsi is also considered the giver of salvation. Thus, by following this ritual, the ancestors are pleased and bless you with happiness and peace.

In the evening, light a lamp of pure ghee in the name of your ancestors in the south direction of your home or under a Peepal tree. The south direction is considered the direction of the ancestors. It is said that lighting a lamp here pleases the ancestors and bestows their blessings.

Worship of the Peepal tree

On the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, offer water to a Peepal tree. While offering water, meditate on your ancestors and chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya."

Brahmin feast and donation

Before breaking the Ekadashi fast, invite a poor person or a Brahmin to your home and feed them a satvik meal with devotion. After the meal, donate clothes, food, or dakshina. It is even better if the donated items are yellow in color. Doing so helps the ancestors attain salvation.

This Ekadashi is also celebrated as "Gita Jayanti," so recite the Bhagavad Gita or any chapter of it on this day.
