
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Election Commission announced the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections on Monday. Voting for Bihar's 243 seats will be held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will take place on November 6 for 121 seats, while the second phase for 122 seats will take place on November 11. The election results will be declared on November 14.
With the election dates announced, an IANS-Matriarch survey has also been released. According to the survey, the NDA coalition appears likely to form the government in Bihar once again. The NDA is projected to win 150-160 of the 243 seats, while the All India Alliance is projected to win 70 to 85 seats.
The public will vote on these issues.
Additionally, the survey also sought opinions from the people of Bihar on a variety of issues, attempting to determine which issues voters will be voting on in the assembly elections this time. According to public opinion, unemployment is considered the most significant voting issue in this Bihar election.
Unemployment was cited as the most important issue by 24 percent of voters, corruption by 10 percent, and basic amenities by 2 percent. Furthermore, law and order in the state (5 percent) and rising prices/inflation (7 percent) were also prioritized as election issues.
Meanwhile, 9 percent of the state's population identified PM Modi's image, 2 percent poor healthcare, 8 percent the education system, and 4 percent issues related to farmers as key voting issues. Furthermore, 1 percent identified floods, 4 percent identified migration, 2 percent identified state development, and 3 percent identified prohibition as key election issues.
Meanwhile, 15 percent of people did not consider any of these to be an election issue. The survey also gathered public opinion on the Special Intensive Review (SIR) conducted in Bihar, with 54 percent praising the Election Commission's move, while 17 percent considered the SIR necessary in the state. Furthermore, 13 percent considered it an issue of electoral advantage, while 16 percent remained unconvinced.
