This accident happened on National Highway 66 on Tuesday morning. The woman was passing by on a scooter on the highway at Kulur near Mangaluru. Then she fell into a pit on the highway and a truck passed over her.
How did the accident happen?
The deceased woman has been identified as Madhavi, who was a resident of Udupi district. Madhavi left for office on Tuesday morning. Around 8:30 am, she reached the Kullur flyover. There was a big pothole on the flyover, which was filled with water. Madhavi could not control the scooter and fell into the pothole and the truck coming behind her ran over Madhavi.
4 people had lost their lives earlier also
In this accident, Madhavi died on the spot. Madhavi worked in AJ Hospital in Mangaluru. According to local people, after being hit by the lorry, Madhavi jumped about 25 feet in the air. Before Madhavi, 4 people have died due to this pit on the flyover.
Earlier on August 13, a man riding a bike fell into a pit. However, his life was saved somehow. After this incident, there is a lot of anger among the local people. They have expressed their displeasure against the administration and have appealed to fill the pit.
