News Topical, Digital Desk : If you love art, there will be no need to give much importance to money. Manav Kaul, the actor of the film Baramulla, released today on Netflix, also gives importance to art. That is why anyone can stage Manav's stories for free.
During a meeting for the film Baramulla in Mumbai, Manav explained the reason for this. He says that even today many people in our country consider art as a hobby. In such a situation, if someone from a small town or a simple background wants to stage a play based on a story written by me, then asking for money for it is foolish.
Manav belongs to this beautiful place in Kashmir
Talking about art and the reason for choosing Baramulla, Manav Kaul further said, “We never paid writers like Harishankar Parsai, Chekhov (Russian author Anton Chekhov) to stage plays based on their stories. I have performed many of their plays in my village. That is why I have taken away the rights to my stories.”
Manav himself is from Baramulla. So when the story for the film "Baramulla" came to him, he was surprised. He explains that the script was labeled "Baramulla." He thought the director would know he was from there, but he didn't. The biggest reason he agreed was that the film would be shot in Baramulla during the winter, which is his favorite season. The story was also good.
Why is Manav Kaul called a dictator?
In the world of theatre, Manav Kaul is considered a dictatorial director. Regarding how much of a dictator he can maintain while acting on set, Manav says, “When conceiving a film, the director also imagines his actors and how they should be.”
He further adds, "I want to be the actor my director wants. I can share my thoughts with him about the scene. Then he can decide. I know that no matter what I do, I will not go out of character."
