News Topical, Digital Desk : Just before the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal, the Mamata Banerjee government is set to present the interim budget (Vote on Account) in the assembly on Thursday. It is believed that through this budget, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not only present an account of the state's economic health but will also prepare a blueprint for returning to power for a fourth term.

The budget session will begin with an address by Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, followed by the presentation of the interim budget by Minister of State for Finance (Independent Charge) Chandrima Bhattacharya. This budget is considered extremely important in political and administrative circles, as it will directly indicate the election agenda and the government's priorities.

It is being said that this interim budget may be focused on women and youth. The women's vote bank has been a strong base for the Trinamool Congress in Bengal.

The budget is likely to announce new financial assistance schemes for women and youth. Rural connectivity: Major investments in rural roads and drinking water projects may be announced before the elections.

Centre vs State: The issue of funds (MNREGA and Housing Scheme) withheld by the Central Government in the Budget speech may once again heat up.

Experts say it may not be merely a financial document, but rather an election manifesto. Mamata Banerjee knows well that a fourth term requires touching both the public's pockets and sentiments.

In this interim budget of Mamata government, there is a possibility of making additional provisions for schemes related to 'Lakshmi Bhandar', 'Swasthya Sathi', 'Kanyashree' and rural employment.

BJP is vocal on the issue of fire and corruption

This session of the Bengal Assembly is also crucial for the opposition BJP, as all MLAs will be contesting elections after this. It is believed that the opposition will be vocal on issues of law and order and corruption, including the Anandpur fire incident. Signs of this were already visible on Tuesday.
