News Topical, Digital Desk : India's First Malaria Vaccine: India has achieved another major milestone in the health sector. Long battling the deadly disease malaria, the country has now found a cure. For the first time, India has developed its own malaria vaccine, AdFalciVax. This vaccine is specifically designed to protect against the most dangerous form of malaria, Plasmodium falciparum.

This is a historic step in India because the country is now self-sufficient against malaria and can show the world the way in this direction. This new vaccine will not only prevent the disease but will also accelerate the mission to make India malaria-free. So let's find out how effective this malaria vaccine is.

How effective is the malaria vaccine?

Adfalcivax is a vaccine specifically designed by scientists to block the malaria parasite before it reaches the bloodstream. This means it protects the body before the disease has even begun. Another major benefit is that it prevents the spread of malaria infection from one person to another. Thus, it not only provides treatment but also breaks the chain of transmission.

Who is making this vaccine?

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has licensed the production of this vaccine to five Indian companies: Indian Immunologicals Limited, TechInvention Lifecare Private Limited, Panacea Biotech Limited, Biological E Limited, and Zydus Lifesciences. These companies will now mass-produce the vaccine, and after human trials, it will be made available nationwide. The Adfalcivax vaccine is crucial because it stops the dangerous malaria parasite from spreading within the body. Doctors and scientists hope that once this vaccine is used on a large scale after human trials, India could become malaria-free by 2030.
