News Topical, Digital Desk : In Uttar Pradesh, a syndicate involving officials from the Transport and Mining departments colluding to pass overloaded trucks was exposed. The UP Special Task Force (STF) took major action in this matter and registered FIRs in four districts, including Lucknow.
The UP Special Task Force (STF) conducted simultaneous raids in Lucknow, Fatehpur, Unnao, and Rae Bareli, exposing this entire syndicate. Following this, complaints have been filed against everyone from the ARTO to mining officials for allowing overloaded trucks to pass.
FIR registered in four districts including Lucknow
The STF has registered a named FIR against the ARTO, mining officer, his gunner and driver in Madiyanv of Lucknow, Thariyanv of Fatehpur, City Kotwali of Unnao and Lalganj Kotwali of Rae Bareli.
According to media reports, in Lucknow, an FIR has been filed against nine people, including ARTO Raju Bansal and DTO Manoj Bhardwaj. In Fatehpur, an FIR has been filed against six people, including mining officer Deshraj Patel. In Lalganj, Rae Bareli, an FIR has been filed against 11 people, including ARTO Fatehpur Pushpanjali. A racket involving extortion of crores of rupees has been exposed in these districts.
Recovery of crores of rupees exposed
It is reported that brokers in these areas charged up to 7,000 rupees for passing overloaded trucks. Of this, 5,000 rupees went to the RTO and the mining department, allowing the overloaded trucks loaded with sand and gravel to pass. Once the money was paid, there was no checking of such vehicles anywhere.
If these overloaded trucks were caught anywhere, they were released without a challan. The truck's registration number and money were sent to the officers the night before. From Banda and Hamirpur to Lucknow, crores of rupees worth of money was being laundered through brokers in the name of passing overloaded trucks.
