News Topical, Digital Desk : Late Sunday night, a bus carrying wedding guests collided with an oncoming truck in Bidhanu. Both the bus and the truck were damaged. A dumper loaded with gravel coming from behind also collided with the bus, causing it to lose control and overturn into a ditch. Fifteen people, including wedding guests and the driver and conductor, were injured in the accident. Police arrived at the scene and admitted the injured to the Bidhun CHC, from where nine people, including a woman, were referred to LLR Hospital in critical condition.
The bus was returning from Ghatampur
On Kanpur-Sagar highway, late Sunday night, near Shambhua bridge in Bidhanu police station area, a private school bus carrying wedding party members from Ghatampur collided head-on with a truck coming from the front towards Naubasta. Both the bus and the truck were completely damaged due to the strong collision. Meanwhile, a dumper loaded with gravel coming towards Naubasta rammed into the bus from behind, due to which both the bus and the dumper went out of control and overturned in a ditch. After hearing the screams following the accident, passersby informed the police. The police reached the spot and quickly rescued the wedding party members and the dumper driver trapped in the bus and admitted them to CHC with the help of an ambulance.

Bidhanu police station in-charge Tej Bahadur Singh said that the wedding procession had gone from Kalyanpur to Ghatampur. In the accident, bus driver Kamal Singh, resident of Vinayakpur, wedding guest Peer Ali of Nawabganj, three-year-old Apahan, resident of Lalpur, Nafees and his son Arshad, wife Sabana, resident of Konch of Jalaun, along with dumper driver Deepu Yadav, resident of Kaushambi, Shaheen of Padri Lalpur and Javed of Etawah, along with other wedding guests were injured. Among them, Shaheen, Javed, Kamal, Deepu, Bhola Shankar and Ashok have been admitted to LLR Hospital in critical condition. However, except Kamal Singh, all have returned to their homes after getting treatment.
The bus driver and conductor drank alcohol after a dispute with the wedding party.
The injured in the accident told the police that the wedding party had a dispute with the bus driver and conductor in Ghatampur. After this, both of them parked the bus and left. When they returned after about two hours, both were drunk. After this, the wedding party members tried to stop him from driving the bus, but he did not listen. When he left, people boarded the bus. People were interrupting him along the way, but due to his intoxication, he did not listen to anyone and kept driving the bus at high speed. The accident occurred due to his intoxication. The Bidhanu police station in-charge said that this matter has come to light during the interrogation of the wedding party members. Action will be taken based on the written complaint. However, no complaint has been received from any party yet.
