
News Topical, Digital Desk : Five people, including four members of a family, were killed when the brakes of a KSRTC bus going from Kasargod to Mangaluru failed and collided with a bus shelter and an auto-rickshaw at Talapady in Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday. Seven others were also injured in the accident.
Police said that four adults and a child died and all four adults belonged to the same family. The injured are being treated at a local hospital. He further said that a preliminary investigation has been started to find out the cause of brake failure.
KSRTC and traffic officials are inspecting the bus to assess mechanical flaws and maintenance procedures. KSRTC and Road Transport Department officials reached the spot and arranged for rescue operations.
